Sing Peace Around the World

Sing Peace Around the World

Shelley Murley

Shelley is a dynamic musician, composer, public speaker, Montessori teacher, and, most importantly, a pancake-flipping mother of five.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston and completed her Montessori training at St. Nicholas Montessori College. For over twenty years, Shelley’s passion has been integrating music into Montessori classrooms since she completed her Montessori training.

Shelley has developed innovative training programs for Montessori teachers, enabling them to grasp the basics of rhythm, instruments, composers, and music history. To support teachers without formal musical training, she created a practical music manual, making it easier to incorporate music into daily classroom activities. Additionally, Shelley has composed three albums of delightful music specifically designed for classroom use, titled “Quick Little Songs to Help Little Ears Learn Lickety-Split.”

In 2008, Shelley launched “Sing Peace Around the World,” an inspiring global initiative where children from all corners of the earth come together to sing about peace. This project fosters a sense of unity and harmony, allowing children everywhere to raise their voices in a collective song for peace.

Shelley is currently the Executive Director of COI Montessori Academy, located just outside Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
